You guys probably read these already in a fwd of some sort...but for those who havent...have a lil giggle on me!
^_^

Lipstick
According to a radio report, a middle school in Oregon was faced with a unique problem. A number of girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints.

Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the custodian. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every day.

To demonstrate how difficult it was to clean the mirrors, she asked the custodian to clean one of the mirrors. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it into the toilet and then cleaned the mirror.

Since then there have been no lip prints on the mirror.

Swearing
A 7 year old and a 4 year old are upstairs in their bedroom. "You know what?" says the 7 year old, "I think it's about time we started swearing." The 4 year old nods his head in approval.

"When we go downstairs for breakfast I'm gonna swear first, then you swear after me, ok?" "Ok" the 4 year old agrees with enthusiasm.

The mother walks into the kitchen and asks the 7 year old what he wants for breakfast. "Oh, shit mum, I guess I'll have some Coco Pops" WHACK!! He flew out of his chair, tumbled across the kitchen floor, got up, and ran upstairs crying his eyes out.

She looked at the 4 year old and asked with a stern voice, "And what do YOU want for breakfast, young man?!"

"I don't know" he blubbers, "but you can bet your f*cking arse it won't be Coco Pops."

Is anyone interested in going Skirmish on May 17th at Kurajong? It's a Saturday. My friends are organising it and they asked if I want to take anyone along before they ask their other friends. I need an answer today please :) I'm not sure if I can bring a lot of people though.

EDIT: I can only take 1-2 person(s) with me, I'm not sure yet. I'll find out on Friday. Let you guys know. It's about $28, you pay extra if you want more balls. Maybe we can organise our own skirmish thing sometime? :)

I really must stop being so lazy in posting my blogs.....

*RofL*

We had dinner at a rather stylish Indian restaurant last night in celebration of Billy's birthday. The only indian food i've ever tasted prior to that was at the food court in liverpool, westfields, and that was only because my friend was working there. She's this little vietnamese girl that stands there serving curry, garlic naan bread and this drink that taste like yoghurt. I love trying out different cuisines and I was quite pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Indian food last night. We had a banquet menu and everything that was in the main meal had a curry base, even the rice had to be fried with curry powder. It was curry on curry. Consequently, i'm suffering from the "dehli bellie" the morning after. Some prefer to call it, "the burning ring" or "the ring of fire".

-cookout tonight-
We haven't had one in a while. What happens is we all get together and experiment with cooking different foods and no matter how it turns out we bring it together and have dinner.
That is usually followed by board games or vcds, we might even have karaoke too this time. Victoria bought a new board game called Risk, a game of world domination. You guys are all welcome to join.

Venue: my place
Time: 5:30pm
Food: byo ingredients

Thank You

Thank you so much every one for making me feel so damn special. On the day of my birthday, I was stuck at USYD for 8 hours working on an assignment. I managed to power on only because I visited the blogger and saw all the colourful birthday wishes posted up by you guys. I was alone, but I knew you guys were thinking of me.

~ Happy Birthday Ethan ~

I bumped into Joel on the night of my birthday, and I was meeting up with Julie later that night so i asked him to join us for dinner. I just wanted to say thanks for agreeing to come without hesitation (or was there?:P) But yes, it was a nice dinner (I love farken fried rice).

Big thank you for everyone that came along last night. Shez and Alan, I know you guys would of been there if ya's could.. I was thinking of you both when I was cracking up at lame jokes at the comedy store.

It was such a cold night and the rain was pretty heavy, but no body backed out. You guys are so reliable!
Thanks Yui for organising the cakeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and to your partner in crime, vicky for picking it up.

Lily, james and dave said they couldn't make it, but made an effort to come at the end. I love you!
I don't nkow what to say, i'm lost for words... u guys are the best.

YUI!! pretended that he wasn't coming, because his car was still at the repairers. I gotta admit, I was really disappointed... A party isn't the same without ya, bro!
Your mates are cool.. i'm glad they could make it too~ :)

Me: ........................... O_o
Below is the transcript of a recorded call made to a gay and lesbian club.
===============================

Hello is that the gay and lesbian center?

-Yes

I want to join.

-Sorry?

I want to join.

-What do you want to join?

I want to sign up as a lesbian.

-(suspicious) Sign up as a lesbian?

Yes

-ermmm.

Yes well I've seen the recruitment video.

-(surprised) The recruitment video?

Yes, you know the one.

-(puzzled) I'm sorry, I am not aware of a lesbian recruitment video.

Oh you must its......

-Ermmmm.

Its called 'Hot Time on Lesbos'.

-Hot Time on Lesbos?

Yes its about this girl that goes on holiday by herself and gets recruited by these three friendly lesbians.

-But that's porn.

No, its a realistic documentary - it says so on the label. Lesbian looks a fun thing to be.

-Well I'm sorry but...

But I want to join.

-You can't join.

Why not.

-Because you're a man.

What's that got to do with it?

-Well lesbians are all woman.

I thought you were against sexual stero-typing. At least that is what it says in your brochure.

At this point the line went dead

Hello all!

I just need some clarity...

Mey: when will you be celebrating your birthday??? I got the impression from talking to u at ur place on Monday nite that it was settled, that you would be celebrating it on next Thursday 17th April, 2003. Reason being is that your assignments would be out of the way, and everyone who will be joining you can party hearty and rest on Good Friday. Also, Comedy Store will be heaps cheaper for everyone on a Thursday nite.

Lately, everyone has been informing me that its this weekend. Haven't spoken to you in a while...its Thursday today...if your doing something Friday nite, ie. tomorrow nite...ermm...what are the plans???

If mey doesnt reply...anyone who knows that is willing to reply - please do so!
^_^

Thanks!

Hahaha !! It was meant to be easier to recognise who wrote certain posts by having their entry personalised with a chosen font face and colour. I ended up writing a comment to Sheryl, telling her that she is beautiful inside and out, in response to a message posted by Christine (but I meant every word I said :P). Lily is active again!! Yay~!!
She is notorious for bringing controversy. We like controversy. A woman with a strong mind... Don't mess with her!! :P Btw, Lily.. Theres an added comments feature. :)

Wow......bloggers been pretty busy lately.....I should check it more often. aheaehaE So much deep and meaningful stuff going on!! *Sniffles* and dont worry, its nor SARS. (Stupid dave :X)
I was reading a story this morning, and the author claims that the Seven Wonders of the World are:
1. To see
2. To hear
3. To touch
4. To taste
5. To feel
6. To laugh
7. To love."
The things we overlooked as simple, ordinary and take for granted were truly wondrous! How come I've never realised it? Discuss!
I personally think the 6th one is the best. I wouldn't be able to live without it.

By the way Petals: I saw your comments!! ner nerr :P~

Hey Mey,

Good Luck in your exams!!!
Don't worry about what happened yesterday...stay focused for ur exam!!!

My mother did such a cute thing on Friday nite...
My lil brother and i were comparing our abs....the fact that he has like 3% fat and his abs show as a set of rippling six packs...
while i have deep set abs with a cm of flab over it....i am being kind to myself, to refer to it as 1cm not the 1 inch it really is! *LoL*
...anyway....back to my mother...so were in our parents room...cos the tv is in there...and were comparing abs....i said i had them, but they were covered by my fat....he poked my stomach and said i was pudgey....kekekekek....
my mother comes in and joins us....

she lifts her top to expose her belly and goes "look at mine!"
my mother is 50 this year...so lately she has developed a lil belly....but i think she looks fabulous for someone her age!
and she has also started to complain about putting on weight easily these few days...etc...she is becoming conscious of her appearance cos my lil brother is caring alot about his looks - new hair cut and clothes, creams lotions and potions, shoes, toning his abs arms and legs...i would be worrying about whether he is gay or not at this point....but he is into girls....
and uno me....i have been going to the gym for a while...and conscious of my looks....or lack there of!

She made the asian sweet desserty soup thing....the other day for my birthday....and she asked if i wanted some....
My dad overheard her asking if i wanted any....and he said to her "uno ur daughter works hard at the gym to lose weight, and u go and feed her one of the most sweetest thing ever!" - Funny thing is that my dad has never commented on the fact that i go to the gym/my looks/anything for like everrrrr...i mean he use to when i was lil....but not since i started growing from a kid to an adult...

To be honest...i wanted some....its not everyday that she makes it just for me! Its not everyday that i eat it either!!!
In retaliation, she said to him "well, im not asking her to eat the whole pot....just a lil in moderation is okay!"
=P

kekekekeke

i love my mummy!
*^_^*

i dont know what i'd do without her....

April 07, 2003

- Birthday plans -

"another birthday party to go to??" Yes! well, i'm thinking about doing something anyway. My birthday is actually on a tuesday, so I wanted to do something on the friday of that week.. BUT!! I just realised it's going to be Good Friday that day. Is anything open? Can't do it on the saturday..

Original plans were: Dinner... (sussex street food court?? hahea!) followed by the comedy store at fox studios. After that, for the party animals, we could go for some drinks.. go dancing or we could even fit in the usual karaoke session.. any suggestions?

OMG!

i did the colorgenics thingo a while ago...while i was bored at work...
i did it again, just a moment before this blogger...and it was soo accurate...
Mey: i think ino where u can pick up the accuracies...

RESULT:
You are striving for a life full of activity and experience and, perhaps even more, an environment where you would be able to forge a close bond with a person who can offer full emotional fulfillment.

You don't really give in. You follow your beliefs and ideals to the bitter end. You are the personification of stubbornness and whatever may transpire, right or wrong, you refuse to compromise or make concessions.

In spite of the fact that you believe that your hopes and ideas are realistic, it is hard for you to accept that your needs and desires are misunderstood by almost everyone within your sphere of influence and there is no-one to turn to or rely on. Your pent-up emotions and inherent egocentricity make you quick to take offense, but as matters stand you realize that you will have to make the best of things as they are.

As of late, you have been experiencing untold stress and this is a result of continuous frustration. You haven't been taking care of all your physical needs and it's beginning to show. It would seem that you have a need to find someone to whom you can really relate - someone perhaps whose standards are as high as your own. You want to be different - to be individualistic - to stand out from the common herd. Your inherent control of your sensual instincts is restricting your ability to give yourself to open up freely but this being on your own, being lonely, often makes you feel the need to give up some of your strict standards to surrender to the general flow - to be like everyone else; a part of the herd. Deep down you regard such instincts as weaknesses to be overcome. You would like to be loved or admired for yourself alone. You demand recognition and tender loving care.

The fear that you may not be able to fulfill or realize all of your ambitions makes you work and play hard. The thought of being prevented from achieving the things you want leads you to play your part with frantic fervor.
Mey did u hear about the one that was on today, on Nova?
it was about how a sporting team got to the finals. the school has never got to the finals previously, so its a really good opportunity. do u let the kids that aren't so good play which translate to the team having no chance of winning? or bench them to have the possibility of winning???

to me, winning isnt everything. the process of getting to a particular place is a life lesson. if i can instill in these kids some happiness and joy at the cost of losing a game that was never won previously...so be it.

when u are a kid, i thought the point in playing sports and games was for the enjoyment...winning just happens to be a bonus.
do you think that people with highly competitive attitudes were cultivated from such events like the soccer finals at school when they were 8 y/o?

in high school, i remember just getting the shits with all the people doing the school cert, the hsc...i derno, mayb it was my grade...
groups of friends were competing for the best marks...if one person didnt know how to do a particular maths question or something, it was an advantage to the person who knew...and they dont even bother to show their friends...(sharing is caring - but not in this situation).

its especially stoopid when something like the school certificate is based on the whole group performance ie teamwork, to get all the good marks so that the teachers can distribute the A's, B's, C's, etc...
then it would be logical to help ur friend out and show them how to answer such questions, so that everyone can top that exam, and then there will only b good marks to distribute to everyone...

*ugh* this is so hard to write when u have calls coming through...

TBC
Congratulations Linda! *Raises glass*

Graduation!! /me plays pachabel cannon (in D) on the sterio. :P I can see it now, Linda in her beautifully pressed shirt, clean lacquered nails. Every strand of her hair sits in their proper place. Her parents, family and friends are watching from afar, but you can still see the proud smiles on their faces. Her parents are fighting back the tears, you can see the reflection of light bouncing off their glassy eyes. Everytime her mother wipes her own tears of joy away, her eyes just become warm and blurry again. It must be an overwhelming feeling to see your child reach that milestone in their life. Their duty is over (oh wait, they still gotta see you through marriage, kids, paying off your mortgage, your career, what you have for breakfast every day etc etc etc~!! :).

Graduation, I don't know when that day will come for me! But i'll get there. At this point in our lives, it is definately a significant and grand event. I don't know how i'll reflect on it in 30 years time though. Perhaps I would regard it as you say Linda, the second biggest event in my life. Maybe by then, it might just seem like glitch on a radar.... just another stone I had to step on to go through the path set by expectations of our parents and society.

Kids, haha. Definately would be one of the biggest events in my life when the time comes. The gift of life! I was listening to nova 96.9 the other day on my way to uni. They had a dilemma that goes, "You've been raising a child for 10 years, you find out that your child was switched at birth. What do you do? Keep the child you raised, or switch and take back your biological child?" I actually sent in an sms and casted a vote. I won't tell you guys what my decision was. I want to hear what you guys would do!

You know what's the weirdest thing..... his song was playing on my winamp when I heard the news that he died. What a coincidence?! ~>_<~
Guys, i've just added a commenting system. Makes the messaging a lot neater and easier to follow. Anyone can add a comment to the blog entries. They don't need to be listed in the absorb blog list.

By the way! VICTORIA! Hello! It's so good to hear from you. Your entry makes perfect sense! I haven't really watched HERO properly, but I will appreciate it more than just for the special effects now that you've given such a great synopsis!

Cheers,

-Mey
and when the arrows were coming towards him he must've been thinking

"gee, those arrows look mighty fake, like computer animation....*eerrrkkkk*"

then he died
Speaking of heroes...I'm sure everyone has seen the movie HERO

When I was younger it was easier to find a definition for this word because we were younger and our imagination was less contaminated with the realities of the world. But now that we're older and know more about how this world works and the people that we once saw were heroes end up being selfish jerks with their own hidden agendas.

The movie was called "Hero" yet it was so hard to tell which one of the characters was indeed the hero. The 3 assassins and Nameless all had honourable intentions, but they all have done shameful things that would make them seem like just the opposite.

But in the end, they were all heros. From Broken Sword's influence, Nameless realized that everything he had been fighting for the past 10 years, to become a hero, was making him just the opposite, a selfish coward. The only way he could have become a hero was to give up his own life. And that is the reason why he did not flee the palace gates when he had the chance. He was waiting for the King to command his guards to kill him because that was the only way he saw fit that he was able to redeem himself and be remembered as a hero. A truely selfless hero, an honourable man who bore no grudges, but only wished to find peace and beauty in a world full of treachery. Heroes are about sacrifice, giving oneself to a cause that would benefit others. (Sorry about the spoilers for those who haven't seen the movie)

Mey, that article about the girl saving her kitten from the python....I bet in a few years time, she'd be thinking back going "WTF was I thinking about??? Damn cat!!!" :P Was a brave thing to do though.

so...yeah....that's all I guess........this is to make up for my lack of contribution for this blog ... i think this is my longest entry...probably doesn't make any sense...oh well :D

One other thing,
April 1, 2003 6:41pm, Leslie Cheung (aka Ge Ge) apparently jumped off a hotel in Central, HK and has been announced dead. He was 46 yrs old.
May he rest in peace.
can we please stick with 1 paragraph postings, made up of no more than 2 sentences?

please.

i said, please.
I used to study Humanities for a year. I loved it because it was so interesting, but I had to pursue someting more career oriented... and where do I go?? I.T (smart one, Mey).

Sheryl!! please don't feel discouraged to express your opinions on issues and thoughts that matter. It is just what we need around here. They probably won't solve any problems, and we might even be going around in circles, but it provokes critical and constructive thinking. If something is bothering us, talk about it. If we don't understand it, talk about it!

-bravery-

Altruism, (I had to look the word up) "the unselfish concern for the welfare of others". To me, that is bravery.

Usually, when a person needs to act quickly, their natural instincts would be to protect themselves. That is why the passenger side of a vehicle is deemed the 'death spot'. During a car accident, the driver would steer him/herself away from danger. That split second decision, or instinct results in a dead passenger.

As Sheryl mentioned, it is true that men are expected to be the protectors in society. (I apologise to any feminists out there), but i think that is still the conception in society today. I don't think certain people would act and take such a huge risk out of expectation. When a certain situation calls for a selfless act of bravery, i'm pretty sure they're aware of the risks that are involved. A conscious decision is made, they take that risk. Some might think they're fools for even trying, for some do indeed die trying.

A quote from one of my favourite movies, Braveheart - "Every man dies, but not every man really lives."

-Mey
Has anyone done the Mood Test at Colorgenics.com ?

My results:
You are the sort of person that needs a peaceful environment. You seek release from stress and freedom from conflicts and disagreements, of which you seem to have had more than your fair share. But you are taking pains to control the situation by proceeding cautiously and you are right in doing so as you are a very sensitive person.

Rejection is what you fear the most and it is this fear that makes you unapproachable. You are looking for acknowledgement and above all looking for people who can appreciate you for who and what you are.

You are confined and trapped in a distressing or uncomfortable situation and seeking some way out. Whatever you seem to do to resolve the problem hasn't worked out. Fortunately you are able to gain some aspect of relief from someone close to you.

Matters have not gone well for you. You are experiencing severe stress trying to guard yourself from further disappointments. It would seem that all of your hopes and dreams have not been realised and you are now beginning to doubt yourself. You no longer wish to be further advised by anyone and you insist on going it alone - to control your own destiny. Even though deep down you doubt whether things will get better in the future you have one consolation - and that is that they couldn't possibly get worse. Unwilling to give up anything that you possess, you are looking for some sort of security as a protection against any further setback or loss of position and prestige. You are so negative that you tend to exaggerate your problems and refuse to accept any advice from so called well-meaning friends.

Since in the recent past all of your hopes and aspirations have been denied you, you are now convinced that the future will hold nothing but anxiety so therefore 'why bother?' You would love to get away from it all, to escape from the trials and tribulations of this mundane existence and fall into a peaceful and harmonious relationship, which will protect you from the lack of appreciation and give you the chance to start afresh.

It's sooo damn accurate!!!!! ..Now you know why I'm always bitchy

I never really understood why people who played a sport really well were branded as 'heros'. Sure they're pretty talented to have such precision and style doing the things they have great passion for, but heroic? mmm...You want heroic? this is what I regard as an act of bravery [ story ].

I was watching the late night news last night, and they were showing footages of children in India as young as 5yo wearing camouflage gear, marching, undergo intense training, even holding guns. They were learning how to 'defend their country', girls and boys alike. It is sad to see the innocence being taken away from those children. The perfect world which exists inside little minds getting tampered and replaced with a harsh reality... a reality most of us try to screen out because we can.

Knowledge of fear and pain. I often wondered when the transition occured to me. From the carefree days of discovery, playing with anything that caught my eye, to realising the problems that comes with the gift of life. At 5, I woke up to the sounds of laughter in dreams. 5 year olds in India and the middle-east are trained to act on the waking call of gun shots.

Hello Guys! long time no blog. I'm at uni at the moment also. I guess being around academics and other fellow uni people, it gives me inspiration to write.... YEAH RIGHT!!
Everyone, I have exciting news... *drumroll* my favourite High 5 member (also shezza's favourite~!) Nathan, is releasing his own solo album!!!!!!!!! ARGH! ahahahhahAahaHahhahAHA!!! I've always thought he had such a wonderful voice - he's gonna be awesome! I saw him performing on a morning show on tv, his voice made me feel like I was floating in air :P

On my way off the bus today, I turned to the bus driver to thank him. He was shamelessly picking his nose with his pinky....
There were a group of taiwanese tourists on the train.. they were a very lively and excited bunch of people. They got off cabramatta and had a video camera with them... hopefully they'll have a good time testing out vietnamese cuisine... hopefully no one grabs their camera....

Class starts in 2 minutes. I was very tempted to not come in at all today...
